The Nebraska State Patrol (NSP) and the Nebraska Trucking Association (NTA) invite you to a highly informative and engaging event, the Citizen Carrier Enforcement Academy Day, on February 18, 2024, in Lincoln, NE. The doors open at 8:00 a.m., with learning beginning at 8:30 a.m., culminating at the day's end with a wealth of knowledge and practical demonstrations. After completing the day, participants receive a certificate of completion and an application for future ride-along opportunities—an invaluable chance to experience firsthand the workings of NSP Carrier Enforcement.

The comprehensive agenda includes NSP Carrier Enforcement history and function, compliance reviews, commercial driver license (CDL) compliance, hours of service (HOS) and electronic logging devices (ELD) regulations, and an overview of the hazardous materials program. The group will learn about post-crash investigations, the DataQ process, substance abuse awareness, and human trafficking. The Academy Day will provide participants with a well-rounded understanding of the many aspects of NSP Carrier Enforcement.

Participants will witness a full Level One inspection demonstration and visit the scales to observe the operation, including how NSP uses screening equipment such as DOT readers, plate readers, and flat tire sensors.

The day isn't just about theory; it's an immersive experience. Attendees will witness K9 demonstrations, an airwing showcase, and a drone flight demonstration.

Lunch will be provided at the NSP Headquarters building, fostering networking opportunities and casual discussions among participants. The event is open to both NTA members and non-members, costing $35 for NTA members and $50 for non-members—a small investment for the wealth of knowledge and experience that awaits.
